2025 Government Shutdown: History Repeats Itself

Same game plan as the 2013 government shutdown, which forced passage of ObamaCare, but this time, the stakes are even higher.

In 2013, Barack Obama’s Democratic party held the nation hostage by creating a 16-day government shutdown to force passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as ObamaCare.

Twelve years later, we find the US Congress is again being held hostage by the Democratic party—this time the ransom demands are exponentially more extreme than in 2013. Following the 2013 template, the Democratic party is pushing the agenda of its most extreme proponents by demanding a massive annual budgetary increase of $1.5 trillion for extreme “Woke Agenda” demands including:

1. ObamaCare (ACA) subsidies to be expanded to provide health care to illegal immigrants;

2. More taxpayer funding for insurance plans that provide abortions;

3. Medicaid expansion for illegal aliens;

4. Insurance programs that fund transgender surgeries—including “gender affirming care,” wherein American citizens subsidize sterilization and mutilation policies for minors.

In a nutshell, the extreme left is pushing for $1.5 trillion in added federal annual debt, funded by hardworking taxpayers, to pay for ObamaCare subsidies for illegal aliens and for transgender procedures.

The Democratic party saw this strategy work effectively in 2013 and are simply following the same game plan.

Of course, the Democratic Party claims to care about people—when actually all they care about is furthering their Woke Agenda—no matter how costly the sustained government shutdown will be for all Americans including government workers, Americans dependent upon government programs, and all other Americans.

We cannot give in to radical left demands.

What, if anything, can the Executive Branch (i.e., President Trump) do?

As Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russ Vought stated to the press prior to the shutdown, “This is hostage taking. It is not something that we’re going to accept, and we hope that the Democrats come back from the brink, fund this government, and allow us to move forward.”

Wade Miller, during an appearance on War Room with Steve Bannon, stated that the Democrats’ current game plan to take Congress and the budget hostage may actually be a colossal strategic mistake. Why? Without an appropriations bill in place, the President has the power to authorize OMB Director Russ Vought to legally and surgically remove government programs with Woke Agenda spending, other unnecessary spending, and any and all superfluous bureaucracies (three-letter agencies, etc.).

The Democrat strategy is a massive gamble that may boomerang, resulting in greater leverage for President Trump to attack all Democratic weaponized aspects of government and all woke programs.


We cannot compromise with the Woke Radical Left

We need to educate the public—both Republicans and moderate (rational) Democrats. We need to communicate everywhere possible, as much as possible, that the Democrats have shut down the government—including needed governmental programs—as they care more about their Woke Agenda than the American people.

Again, there can be no compromise with the radical left agenda.

We must stand unrelenting, arm in arm. Our message must be immediately and loudly asserted in the press, in coffeehouses, in schools, in community gatherings; anywhere anyone is willing to listen to logic and reason.

We must support President Trump and The America First movement.

We cannot afford to compromise with the extreme left’s Woke Agenda. We owe it to our children, grandchildren, neighbors, and communities to fight until the battle is won. No compromise. Tell everyone—including Democrats—that the extreme left’s so-called leadership (AOC and her Woke cronies) simply want power. They care no more about members of their party than they do our party. They care about no one except themselves and obtaining absolute power—the very allegations they direct at Trump in the media. Leftists want absolute power (in the form of a new USA government, based upon a socialist/communist template, at any cost.

We must not compromise with the extreme-left Democrats. Spread the word.
